Unknown errors

If you encounter an unknown error in WellSaid Studio, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check if it's browser-related
Access Studio from a new window, private window, or another browser to rule out browser-related issues.
*If you've bookmarked Studio, try typing the URL (wellsaidlabs.com) directly into your browser.
  2. Clear your cache/cookies
Clear your browser's cache and cookies to resolve most browser-related problems.
  3. Disable VPN or ad-blocker extensions
Temporarily disable VPN or ad-blocker browser extensions, as they may interfere with Studio's functionality.
  4. Contact Support
If the issue persists, reach out to our Support team for further assistance.

Known errors and solutions

We've found some errors that have quick fixes. If you've received an error not listed below, let us know!

  • Please format your respelling correctly or Respelling must wrap some text
We typically see this error when there's a special character before or after a Respelling replacement.

Enter a space between the character and respelling or remove any special characters before or, in some cases, after the Respelling.

This error occasionally occurs when a Respelling is used in a URL. You can also create a Replacement so Avatars will say:

www.ourproduct.com → our product dot com

For more Respelling error fixes, check out our guide.

  • Unable to load audio due to invalid src
When you see this error, Studio is having a hard time connecting to the server. If your session has gone inactive, try refreshing your browser, closing your tab, opening a new one, or signing out of Studio and signing back in again.
  • Text cannot contain these characters
This error appears when a character entered cannot convert to speech. If the error message displays the character, delete or replace the character. If no characters are indicated, ensure your text is in plain format without any formatting tags.
  • An error occurred while decoding the audio file
This sometimes occurs when a browser contains corrupted data. Try refreshing or clearing your cache and try again.
  • Error when creating a new project
If you see this error, "Something went wrong. Please try again." when creating a project. Ensure your project title doesn't include any of the following characters:

    #, &, %, +, \, :, |, “, *, ?, <, >
