Adding emphasis to a word or phrase

When you place a word or phrase in quotation marks (" "), the AI knows to pay particular attention to those words. Quotation marks let you shape the emphasis of your sentence.

Getting the right inflection

  1. Let's test out this sentence:

After the fixed-rate period ends, your interest rate will adjust up, or down based on, an index.

  2. In this example, to get a more natural reading, we want to ask the AI to treat "up or down" as one unit. We want to place quotation marks around the phrase that should be emphasized.

  3. Before we entered this sentence without quotation marks, the AI read it like this:

After the fixed-rate period ends, your interest rate will adjust up, or down based on, an index.

  4. After adjusting the script, the AI read it like this:

After the fixed-rate period ends, your interest rate will adjust "up or down" based on an index.

Getting the right inflection for longer content

When creating longer content, there may be instances where you want the AI to highlight specific words or phrases to achieve a more natural sound. One way to accomplish this is by incorporating quotation marks around particular parts of the sentence that you would naturally emphasize.

For instance, in the following script, we want the AI to give extra emphasis to words such as "spice up" and "culinary creations," the brand name "FlavorMasters," as well as mentions of "your" or "our." These are the keywords and phrases that I want listeners to truly focus on.

Ready to "spice up" your "culinary creations?" Discover "FlavorMasters!" Are "you ready" to take "your taste buds" on a flavor-packed adventure with "our handcrafted spice blends" and "gourmet seasonings?" Unleash your "inner chef" and elevate "every dish" with "FlavorMasters!"
